Position Summary:

The HR Director performs a variety of human resource activities. The incumbent will know the policies, procedures and best practices necessary to manage the day-to-day functions, activities and programs of the HR Department. The HR Director will also advise on strategic issues and direction associated with the management and development of Human Capital for the company.


HR Operations Responsibilities:
• Oversee all aspects of HR functions: performance appraisal, promotions, terminations, employee relations, compliance, and labor relations.
• Manages benefits and compensation plans and provide for employee assistance and guidance.
• Manage and implement HR programs, policies, and procedures.
• Identify, evaluate, and resolve human relations, employee morale, work performance, and company productivity concerns.
• Develop, update, and maintain personnel policies, policy manuals, and employee handbooks. Revise HR policies in compliance with changing or new legislation.
• Provide advice and consultation to management on employee relations and performance management issues.
• Provide pragmatic and consistent guidance and advice to managers on grievance procedures, attendance, liability, disciplinary, and performance issues.
• Ensure the maintenance and accuracy of payroll data, payroll processing and documentation.
• Conduct periodic audits of management practices to ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws and regulations.
• Monitor issues and changes in federal and state employment law and communicate their potential impact on company operations to senior management.
• Monitor and ensure the effective operation of all On-Boarding and Off-Boarding processes and procedure
• Ensure the accuracy and efficient storage of employee data in the company HRIS and other data systems as appropriate
• Maintain and ensure the accurate reporting of Federal, State & Local Withholding Tax Filing, FICA, FUTA, SUTA & EEO-1 reporting
• Coordinate the Benefit Enrollments & Payroll Administration processes of the company ensuring the accurate withholdings from pay for employee benefits costs and garnishments as required by law.
• Maintain the effective administration of COBRA & FMLA programs.
• Conduct the timely and efficient investigations into claims of harassment, intimidation or discrimination and prepare reports of findings and recommendations to the Officers of the company as appropriate.
• Maintain an effective performance management and appraisal system to provide one input to the company’s compensation program
HR Strategic Responsibilities
• Proactively engage management on introducing practical solutions to complex and diverse HR issues and recommend appropriate action plans.
• Conduct needs assessment activities as appropriate to support the management development and training requirements of the company
• Maintain a competency profile and capacity development program to support the current and future human capital requirements of the company
• Conduct periodic audits of management practices and company procedures to ensure continuous compliance with regulatory and HR best practices requirements.
• Conduct an assessment of the company’s compensation program at least once every three years to ensure a competitive salary structure.
• Make recommendations to the leadership of the company on ways and means to promote a work environment conducive to motivating high productivity among the staff


• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline
• At least 5+ years of experience in Human Resources management
• Microsoft office proficiency
• Demonstrated understanding of HR best practices and current regulations
• Expertise in writing HR policies and procedures
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Adheres to confidentiality and is attentive to time sensitive matters
• Demonstrated evidence of sound judgement and problem-solving skills
• Accuracy and attention to detail

• Cost and Time to hire
• Turnover rate based on projected vs. actual ratios
• Number of needs assessment initiated and completed
• The number of external agency audits of company operations
• Number of training programs and development initiatives planned and delivered.
• Number of adverse actions and compliance violation claims made by employees
• Results of employee assessment of HR support and services

Work Environment:
Identify any sporadic or on-going work environment condition that may influence performance.
The HR Director position will perform under a medium to high stress level environment. Stress levels will be high and intense on a sporadic basis

Physical Demands:
Identify any physical demands or requirements necessary to meet the performance standards of the job.
Incumbents in this position must be able to lift 25 lbs. a distance of 30 feet
